A new step in the development of MICS

Circular demolition as a guiding principle

Now that Metrohm has moved into the first new MICS building, Omega, the former office building will be demolished in the coming period. A key principle in this process is the maximum reuse of materials. This approach fits seamlessly with the circular ambitions of MICS.

Carefully stripping the interior first

Demolition begins with carefully stripping the building from the inside, so that as many materials as possible can be given a second life. Although fencing will be placed around the site, little will be visible from the outside during the first weeks. The demolition work will be completed in December.

Space for the further development of MICS

After demolition, the site will become part of the broader area development. This location will eventually house a multi-storey car park that will contribute to a low-traffic and easily accessible campus.
