Building permit granted for Atlas: a new milestone for MICS

We are proud to announce that the building permit for Atlas has officially been granted. This marks a significant step forward for MICS as we continue to shape the future of innovative manufacturing in Schiedam. Following the successful completion of the OMEGA new-build project for Metrohm, we are now preparing for the next phase: the realisation of Atlas. A modern, industrial building spanning 24,000 m², situated right on the banks of the Schie and adjacent to the future ONS Square in Schiedam.

First Signs of Progress on Site

The iconic MICS containers have already been moved to the construction site. This marks the first visible sign of progress, with construction scheduled to begin later this year.

A Breeding Ground for Mechatronics

Atlas will become a home for innovative manufacturing companies, with a strong focus on mechatronics – the discipline at the crossroads of mechanics, electronics, and computer science.
The building will offer flexible open workspaces, shared meeting rooms, hospitality facilities and other communal spaces that foster collaboration and knowledge exchange.

One of the first future tenants of Atlas is Boers & Co Precision Solutions, who will establish themselves in the new building and contribute to the growth of the innovation cluster in Schiedam.
