A Global Leader in Chemical Analysis

Metrohm develops and produces chemical analysers: instruments that measure the composition of liquids or gases in real time. This technology enables companies to optimise their processes, improve quality, and comply with strict international standards.
CEO Timoer Frelink shared insights into Metrohm’s rich history, with its headquarters in Herisau (Switzerland) and production sites in Schiedam, Utrecht, the United States, and China. He also highlighted the company’s distinctive ownership structure – a foundation that ensures long-term stability and independence.

Innovation through Collaboration

Colleague Jeroen Zaalberg demonstrated how the Metrohm team co-creates innovative solutions with its customers. By working closely with companies such as Vrumona, BASF, Intel Corporation, and BYD, they develop analysers that contribute globally to quality, efficiency, and sustainability.
His presentation clearly showed how mechatronics and innovation go hand in hand at Metrohm – and how Dutch expertise plays a key role in international high-tech applications.

Connecting the Region

The Break to Innovate took place in the new Omega building in Schiedam – a modern, sustainable facility that reflects Metrohm’s forward-looking vision. During the lunch session, members of the MICS and SchieDistrict communities came together to share knowledge, spark new ideas, and inspire one another.
