MICS at ZIE 2026: collaboration as a driver of innovation
The energy at ZIE 2026 made one thing immediately clear: collaboration is not a choice, but a necessity. This was evident throughout the entire event, and certainly at the MICS stand.
During the exhibition, MICS engaged with numerous companies from the technological manufacturing industry — organisations looking to accelerate, scale up and, above all, connect. There was strong interest in MICS and the opportunities the campus offers.
Together with partners Boers & Co Precision Solutions, MakerMinds, SchieDistrict and Metrohm Applikon, MICS demonstrated what can be achieved when industry, education and government genuinely reinforce one another within a single ecosystem.
Acceleration through collaboration
A key moment during ZIE 2026 was the lunch session with Doekle Terpstra (Rotterdam The Hague Metropolitan Region – MRDH) and Joost van der Veen. Here, the importance of the recently signed collaboration agreement at MICS was once again emphasised. This agreement provides a solid foundation for accelerating talent development, innovation and collaboration on campus.
It also became clear that the next step is already underway: Doekle and Joost have started forming working groups focused on education, research and technology. During the session, attendees were invited to join these groups and help further develop the MICS programme together.
Building the future together
ZIE 2026 confirmed that the need for collaboration in the high-tech and manufacturing industry is greater than ever. MICS offers a place where ideas, talent and technology come together.
