MICS featured in Industry and Business Parks magazine

MICS is gaining increasing attention. In the magazine Industry and Business Parks, the Municipality of Schiedam explains its deliberate choice to transform business parks into dynamic, future-proof urban areas. A development in which MICS plays a key role.

SchieDistrict: building for the future

Since 2018, the Municipality of Schiedam has been working on the development of the SchieDistrict: an integrated area development in which the Spanish Polder and ’s-Gravelandsepolder business parks are being transformed into places where work, innovation and quality come together. In the ’s-Gravelandsepolder, MICS is growing into South Holland’s Mechatronics Innovation Campus, developed in close collaboration with public and private partners.

More than functional

The magazine highlights themes such as sustainability, transparency, accessibility, leasehold and building trust between the municipality and entrepreneurs. The ambition is clear: business parks that are more than purely functional. Areas that add value to the city and the region, while offering space for growth, innovation and employment.

A hotspot for mechatronics

Within this broader area development, MICS is evolving into a powerful ecosystem for mechatronics. A campus where companies, knowledge institutions and talent come together, where craftsmanship and high-tech innovation meet, and where education and practice reinforce each other. With sustainable and transparent buildings and 42 hectares of space, MICS offers ample opportunities for companies and talent to grow.
