Opening of the Humanoid Application Center on 2 July
On 2 July, the Humanoid Application Center (HAC) will officially open its doors at the Mechatronics Innovation Campus Schiedam (MICS). With the arrival of the centre, a next step is taken in the development and application of robotics within the manufacturing industry.
From technology to application
During the opening event, visitors will gain insight into how humanoid robots are finding their way into real-world applications. The programme includes live demonstrations on the work floor and panel discussions with founders, partners and representatives from government.
A key moment of the afternoon will be the official opening, carried out by a humanoid robot itself — a tangible example of how far this technology has already progressed.
Accelerating innovation at MICS
The arrival of the Humanoid Application Center is an important development for MICS. While new technologies often remain within research environments, the HAC focuses specifically on moving towards practical application. In realistic settings, companies can test, refine and directly translate technologies into their own operations.
This enables businesses to quickly learn what works — and what does not. By experimenting together with partners from industry, education and government, solutions are developed that better align with day-to-day practice in the manufacturing sector.
Collaboration as a driving force
At MICS, technology, companies, education, talent and government come together. This combination ensures that innovations develop more quickly and find their way into practical use.
The Humanoid Application Center fits seamlessly within this approach: a place where knowledge and practice meet, and where new applications are developed collaboratively.
